UFC Moscow has become a reality. It marks the leading mixed martial arts promotion's first-ever trip to Russian Federation.

The UFC announced today that they will officially be making their way to Moscow, Russia for the very first time on September 15th with an event that will be held in Olimpiyskiy Arena.

The UFC also announced the promotion of Andre Gromkovski as Vice President for UFC Russia. Given that this debut in Moscow will be a Fight Night card, Nurmagomedov will nearly certainly not be on the bill, but rather saved for pay-per-view card sometime thereafter.

Now that Russian Federation can be taken off the checklist of places for the UFC to go, it's time to finally get something done in Hawaii.

The event will take place on September 15 in Moscow, and tickets will go on sale on June 1 according to the UFC.

"Russia is a key part of UFC's global expansion strategy", said David Shaw, Senior Vice President, UFC worldwide and Content, per a UFC press release.

The UFC has signed several Russian fighters including current lightweight champ Khabib Nurmagomedov, and the Russian MMA fan base has remained an untapped market for the UFC.
