Harris was arrested early Wednesday on disorderly conduct, public drunkenness and simple assault charges as he tried to enter his gated community outside Atlanta, the Associated Press reported.

Atlanta entertainer T.I. has been arrested in Henry County. The police department told WSB-TV that T.I., legally named Clifford Harris Jr., didn't have his key to enter, and a security guard reportedly refused to let him in. He claims the guard was asleep when his client arrived at the guardhouse and it took "some time to wake up the sleeping guard". He then called a friend, but that didn't help the situation, as both men began to argue with the security guard, which led to police officers being called.

"Tip was wrongfully arrested", Harris's attorney Steve Sadow said in a statement to the media on Wednesday, referring to the rapper by one of his nicknames.

However, the website said the rapper was eventually allowed into his gated community after an initial argument with the guard. He says he gave the guard "every opportunity" to apologize for sleeping, but the guy refused. Tip clearly identified himself and sought entry. Tip was in contact with "Tiny" by phone and "Tiny" confirmed that Tip should be let in immediately. The guard continued to refuse entry without justification. Words were exchanged and apparently the guard and/or supervisor called the police. "I guess y'all been hearing all the nonsense", he said, wearing the same shirt he wore in his mugshot. The friend, who had a warrant out for his arrest from Clayton County, was arrested on that warrant.

The Washington Post left a message with Henry County Police Deputy Mike Ireland seeking more information.

Aside from being a rapper and actor, T.I.is also a activist involved in local and national social issues.
