"I read the Deadpool comics and, sure enough, I really connected to the world, and I felt like he occupied a space in the comic book world that no other character could or would, at least that I'd heard of at the time". Instead, it tries to be its own unique entity with its crude jokes and parody.

From The Express Tribune - the newspaper that allegedly always gives negative reviews to all your favourite films - comes the review of Deadpool 2, a film that everyone in your family can watch, albeit separately.

The first Deadpool movie was a grenade lobbed into the stagnating superhero genre. Nowadays many writers and directors seem to be too anxious about political correctness in their movies.

"We had this. fantastic theme song for the movie and we wanted someone magical to sing it and dance to it", he recalled.

As the movie informs us during its hilarious credit intro it's from the director who killed John Wick's dog, David Leitch. The pacing of the movie is excellent, as it holds your interest through its entirety.

Ryan Reynolds returns as the titular scamp - once a handsome Canadian human named Wade, now a heavily scarred vigilante whose altered genes have awakened the power to, among other things, constantly regenerate himself.

The retirement of Jackman is what Reynolds describes as standing in the way of a potential film starring the two popular characters, telling Variety: "You know, that's a long-standing dream of mine".

The music in Deadpool 2 is another story altogether. We know you can't help it, but just don't. "And it's Ryan Reynolds".

What doesn't count as spoilers: Several characters, including Colossus, Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and Blind Al, are back (so is T.J. Miller's wry sidekick Weasel, though the actor's recent personal troubles have already gotten him nixed from the next installment). It takes a real skill to slip in and out of that kind of mix of reality and fantasy, but Reynolds plays it with just the right tone.

Speaking of Domino, Zazie Beetz did an excellent job portraying the new mutant character whose ability is plainly being lucky. Not because of the performance as much as just the cleaver of the idea of a lucky superhero.

Josh made an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday night to promote the flick, and during his chat shared that he was hesitant to take on the movie at first because he'd only recently finished playing Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War. It was evident that Deadpool 2 has been meddled with. It ends up achieving the rare feat of improving upon the original, even if it's only a slight improvement. Now the foul-mouthed mercenary is back with a sequel that's gearing up to play in the big leagues - the summer movie season, and it looks like it with be another hit for 20th Century Fox.
