Antonio Conte's men were thrashed 3-0 away at Newcastle in their last Premier League outing of the season.

Chelsea have been told they have just seven days to lure Maurizio Sarri to Stamford Bridge - or they face a massive fee.

The Italian has publicly been at odds with the Chelsea hierarchy since failing to sign his first choice targets last summer, including Romelu Lukaku - who ended up at United.

Pat Nevin has claimed that Chelsea FC boss Antonio Conte will go down as a club legend if the Blues win the FA Cup on Saturday afternoon.

In an ideal world, Aurelio De Laurentiis, Napoli's president, would keep Maurizio Sarri around for the foreseeable future, and that's what he's now working towards.

Sarri and De Laurentiis had a two-hour meeting on Wednesday, where it is understood a new deal was discussed, although he is yet to commit his future to the Serie A side.

Sarri has formed an excellent attacking team in this his third season at the club, one which De Laurentiis is keen to ensure remains under his stewardship with Sarri's existing contract at Stadio San Paolo running until 2020.

Luis Enrique's hopes of landing the Chelsea job could receive a significant boost after Maurizio Sarri held talks over staying at Napoli.
