Right-hander Jordan Lyles came within five outs of the first flawless game in San Diego Padres history before allowing a single to Trevor Story in a 4-0 victory against the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday.

Story hit a one-out single to end Lyles' flawless no-hitter. The Rockies hit only two balls out of the infield before Story singled.

Lyles then walked Pat Valaika before he was replaced by reliever Kirby Yates. Lyles matched his career high with 10 strikeouts.

As per AJ Cassavell of MLB.com, the San Diego Padres have placed starting pitcher Joey Lucchesi on the 10-day disabled list with a hip strain and have recalled second baseman Carlos Asuaje from Triple-A El Paso. He's an underwhelming 7-for-59 (.119) through 29 games this season. He was batting.279 with five home runs and 13 RBIs.

Lucchesi, who is 3-2 with a 3.23 ERA in nine starts this season, said he had tightness in his glutes during Monday night's loss to the Rockies. Nick Wittgren (2-0) replaced him and worked 1 2-3 flawless innings to lower his ERA to 0.69.
