Ariana Grande has spoken out once again about the terror attack at Manchester Arena previous year, and the impact that the incident had on her.

Grande then staged a benefit concert in the English city a week later to raise money for those involved in the horrific ordeal, and has now said the event is still "painful" for her to think about.

The 24-year-old singer was asked about making music after the bombing for Time magazine's Next Generation Leaders issue and she couldn't help but be overcome with emotion.

Grande told TIME that processing the incident "is going to take forever". I don't want to give [what happened] that much power - something so negative. That's why I did my best to react the way I did.

She added, "Music is supposed to be the safest thing in the world..." I feel that is why it is nonetheless so heavy on my coronary heart each single day.

The hitmaker confessed that she was still struggling in the aftermath: "I wish there was more that I could fix". You think with time it'll become easier to talk about. Otherwise you'll make peace with it.

The "No Tears Left to Cry" singer says that she made her latest single a song about resilience because following the bombing, she has had to be resilient in ways that are hard to imagine. "It poured out into the music".

"She looked at me like I was insane", Braun tells TIME about the moment he suggested to Grande they should put on a benefit concert. "She said, "I can never sing these songs again". We are so proud of her.

Two days later, Ariana texted him, "Call me". He told her they have to set up a concert and get back over to Manchester.

But soon after, Grande changed her tune and the One Love Manchester show took place. She expressed that she knows there's no solution.

Grande's new album known as Sweetener, with the singer saying the message to her followers was that you could make a nasty state of affairs higher.

She said: "When you're handed a challenge, instead of sitting there and complaining about it, why not try to make something handsome?"
