'Halo' as an arcade game? It's happening

Players can work together or compete against one another.

If there's something that could get fans excited, it'd be a brand new Halo.

"Arcade games are a wholly different challenge compared to console and PC gaming", said Kiki Wolfkill, Head of Halo Transmedia at 343 Studios. It's not even for Xbox One.

Enter Halo: Fireteam Raven, a cooperative arcade sci-fi shooting game from arcade legends Raw Thrills and Play Mechanix in a unique partnership with 343 Industries. Yes, an actual coin-operated arcade game with massive mounted light guns like you used to play when you were a laaitie.

Halo: Fireteam Raven is a new arcade-exclusive light-gun shooter that will hit Dave & Busters arcades across the USA and Canada "this summer" while other arcades will have to wait until "later this year" for HFR.

The screen for the game is a huge 130 inches big and it has been rendered in 4K. Whether you're slaying Covenant soldiers, destroying space crafts, or exterminating the parasitic lifeform the Flood, Halo: Fireteam Raven will offer everything great about the Halo series despite being an arcade experience. This latest Halo game puts players in control of Firestorm Raven, an ODST group that's fighting alongside Master Chief as they face off against the Covenant.

Halo: Fireteam Raven will come to Dave & Busters restaurant arcades in the United States and Canada first this summer, before appearing at other locations at a later date.

As unusual as it all seems, I'm actually happy about this.
