The series, titled All or Nothing: Manchester City, follows manager Pep Guardiola and his side throughout their record-breaking Premier League campaign.

"The way we play is very good, and you can see the fans are very happy and I feel very good about that, I feel they want me to win something".

Guardiola deserves credit for that, as not only has he implemented the tactical framework, within that he's been able to help vital players make improvements to their game.

"I am trying, with all my efforts and desire to avoid that, and instead of making a step back we are going to make a step forward to maintain the level of this club".

City won the title with a record 100 points but received a payout of £149.44 million ($201.91m) - £328,491 ($443,820) less than biggest earners United, who got £149.77m ($202.35m).

6 - Jamie Vardy scored against each of Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham this term, becoming the first player to score against all six in a single Premier League season.

"In his two seasons with us, he has fostered an incredible spirit within the squad and significantly contributed to our progress both on and off the field", he said.

Guardiola won the Champions League with Barcelona in 2009 and 2011, but has not reached the final since, following a three-year stint at Bayern which saw three semi-final defeats.

Securing the long-term future of one of the most highly-regarded managers in the world represents a coup for City's hierarchy.

He then became Bayern Munich boss after a year's sabbatical and won three consecutive Bundesliga titles with them before his switch to City in 2016.

"We have all the conditions to be stable like a club and are trying to be ready for the next years".

Southgate reflected on how Guardiola has transformed football hours before City announced the manager's new three-year contract on Thursday.

Chief executive officer Ferran Soriano added: "Pep's new contract extension is fantastic news for Manchester City".

The 25-year-old has also swept the Premier League Player of the Season, the Football Writers' Association's Footballer of the Year, the Professional Football Association's Players' Player of the Year, the Arab Player of the Year and the African Footballer of the Year awards in 2017/18.

But the way in which the cash is distributed means City actually take home less than rivals Manchester United, who earn £149,767,145 (NZ$294m).
