Xiaomi schedules an event on May 31, Mi 8 expected to launch

Xiaomi's worldwide merchandise lead Donovan Sung had tweeted stating that the business was hosting the event in Shenzhen, and afterwards he tweeted stating they've more than 1 product. A screenshot has been leaked online revealing that Xiaomi has already sold tickets for an upcoming event that is scheduled to take place on May 31 in Shenzhen. On account of its eight anniversary, Xiaomi is planning to launch an anniversary special edition phone, which is expected to be the Mi 8. Rs 21,300). The leaks also detail that the annual event will host around 5,000 people. Xiaomi's global product lead Donovan Sung had earlier tweeted saying the company was hosting the event in Shenzhen, and later he tweeted saying they will have more than one product. CEO Lei Jun teased that we will, in fact, see more than one devices launched at the event.

Fresh news now suggests that the company is going to launch the handset on 31 May, only it won't be called the Mi 7, but the Mi 8. Interestingly, the launch of MIX Mi 2S in March was attended by about 2 000 people. The box appears to be black in color and has the number 8 on it revealing it belongs to the Mi 8. Xiaomi still did not announce when will this press conference take place, but more than one source claimed that it will take place before the end of this month, as the Mi 7 pre-registrations are said to begin on May 27, at least according to one China Mobile store in China, who jumped the gun by releasing such info. The image shows a wide notch on the top of the display and the device appears to be sporting ultra-thin bezels on the side and small chin on the bottom. It is claimed that Xiaomi's upcoming flagship smartphone will feature advanced 3D facial recognition system similar to iPhone X's Face ID. After that, Vice-President of Xiaomi published a post in Weibo, which stated that the manufacturer regardless of your financial situation will give the competitor a 100 instances of a model Mi 8. The device is expected to sport two cameras on its back, and it is still unknown if its fingerprint scanner will be included on the back, or will Xiaomi opt to include an in-display fingerprint scanner in this handset. The Mi 7 will likely run Android 8.1 Oreo-based MIUI 9 and will be offered with 128GB of internal storage.
