Neymar will have a chance to get back to match fitness with a friendly against Croatia on June 3 and Austria on June 10.

The Paris Saint-Germain forward has been out since late February after suffering a broken foot, and it was first feared he may not recover in time for this summer's tournament in Russian Federation.

I doubt he won't be playing for Brazil this year in the World Cup for he has of course been named as a player, and with the trainer saying what he has just said, and the will power for the player himself he will be out on the pitch for the group stages, you can guarantee that!

He underwent surgery in Brazil on March 3 and on Wednesday took part in Brazil's first fitness training in Teresopolis, outside Rio de Janeiro. "It is hard to speak in percentages, we always want to improve more". "I can't comment on the expectation that he'll participate in those matches", he admitted.

Brazil doctor, Lasmar Rodrigo said Neymar is on the right track to be in his peak condition as he steps up the intensity of his training.

Brazil's 2018 World Cup campaign kicks off with their Group E clash against Switzerland on June 17, followed by fixtures versus Costa Rica and Serbia.

Brazil's fitness coach Fabio Mahseredjian said it may take time before Neymar is back to full fitness but that the Paris Saint-Germain striker is moving in the right direction.

He was absent four years ago for the semi-final of Brazil's home World Cup when they ended up losing 7-1 to Germany, the eventual champions.

The PSG winger was stretchered off injured against Marseille in February after colliding with midfielder Bouna Sarr, and it was originally thought that he may miss the World Cup after "severely" injuring his ankle.
