Wednesday was the first time the Bonvillians attended the library's summer reading program party, and Ella's first stop was to grab a piece of chalk and start drawing animals on the park's sidewalk. The exchange rate comes out to one Book Buck per book read.

"So we want them focused on that muscle all during the summertime so that 1 - they don't regress 2 - that opens up all their doors ago so that they can continue with their education and 3 - they begin to love it and enjoy reading which is what we all want them to do", Dr. Robert adds. Last year, 1,810 books were earned by readers for patients at the hospital.

There will be snacks, socializing and games for the children.
