If you ask consumers which of the expected three new Apple iPhone models they are looking forward to seeing in September, most will say that the new "Plus" handset is the one that piques their interest.

Apple iPhone X Plus could come with a triple-rear camera configuration, according to a Forbes report, which shared leaked schematics of the upcoming iPhone X Plus and the budget iPhone X for 2018. According to a report on GSMArena, the upcoming device may be "more compact" than the current iPhone 8 Plus.

"Kuo believes that Apple may release three iPhones in fall 2018 - a relatively affordable 6.1-inch LCD iPhone, a new 5.8-inch OLED flagship (perhaps the iPhone X2) and a 6.5-inch OLED "iPhone Plus" model", reported CNET on Sunday.

The 6.5-inch iPhone will have a triple camera.

Rumors have it the next iPhone top dog will use a steel chassis (like the iPhone X), hence weighing more than the iPhone 8 Plus' 202g. And as seen on the schematics, the low-end iPhone will be equipped with a single camera on back.

The notch on the front of the 6.5-inch iPhone seems smaller and is rumored to house Face ID 2.0. It will likely hang out on the side of the triple camera module. Apple is also expected to launch a budget iPhone X with a 6.1-inch display, and without OLED and 3D touch, though this will retain the Face ID feature. Meanwhile, the 5.8-inch successor to the iPhone X will continue to sport dual-rear cameras, and will support second-generation Face ID support, along with the bigger, more expensive iPhone X Plus.

The source of this leak also claims that Apple won't release four new phones as previously leaked.

So those are two of the projected three iPhones for 2018.

In total Apple could cut the price of the budget iPhone X by $300, including the addition of a $100 fast-charger which now isn't included with the iPhone X.
