Infinity War is the culmination of the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe and features the fractured Avengers teaming up with the Guardians of the Galaxy to take on Thanos and his army.

It's official: Avengers: Infinity War has crossed the $2 billion mark at the worldwide box office, becoming the fourth movie to ever accomplish the feat.

Infinity War is just the fourth film in industry history to reach this milestone, the third to do so in its initial run, and the second to do so from The Walt Disney Studios (joining Star Wars: The Force Awakens).

It's been a helluva year at the ticket booth for Marvel Studios, what with Black Panther ($1.34B) and Avengers: Infinity War ($1.99B) having entered the all-time worldwide gross top ten.

"Infinity War" is one of only four movies to ever reach $2 billion at the global box office.

Infinity War has been breaking records since it hit theaters on April 27: Not only did it earn the biggest domestic opening weekend of all time with $257.7 million, but it also became the fastest film ever to hit $1 billion worldwide, doing so in only 11 days.

Internationally, it is the third-highest grossing release ever with $1.346 billion, and its combined domestic and global debuts set a record of $640.5 million.

In theaters now, Avengers: Infinity War is directed by Joe and Anthony Russo and stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Paul Bettany, Anthony Mackie, Elizabeth Olsen, Tom Holland, Benedict Cumberbatch, Chadwick Boseman, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Tom Hiddleston and Josh Brolin. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment - the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain.

Disney looks to repeat, or even possibly exceed, the success of "Infinity War" a little less than a year from now when its sequel "Avengers 4" opens on May 3, 2019.
