This trailer was also the first time we saw Léa Seydoux's (Spectre, Blue is the Warmest Color) character in the game, who aids Norman Reedus's character in the trailer.

Today, that all changes, as a new trailer was revealed during Sony's E3 press conference, showing off what look to be gameplay footage.

Death Stranding is Hideo Kojima's long awaited debut as an independent developer after departing the Metal Gear Solid franchise.

"We also finally revealed our heroines. Her intelligence and knowledge, her elegance and beauty, she is without a doubt a true French treasure".

Since the first trailer was shown at E3 2016, fans of Kojima have questioned what exactly "Death Stranding" is about.

Death Stranding's newest trailer just dropped, and as expected, it's a doozy.

On top of them, we get a look at the extreme environments of the game, which seem both familiar and alien at the same time, and at the model of the protagonist as well. Of course, some team members are too young to have seen her films or shows when they originally aired, but when I showed them Two People, The Paper Chase, The Six Million Dollar Man and The Bionic Woman for reference, the whole office fell in love. It is being developed by Kojima Productions.

No one expected Death Stranding to start making any sense now - to be honest holding out for that even after release is starting to look a little optimistic - but at least we've seen something that looks like gameplay now.
