Rose McGowan was indicted for cocaine possession by a grand jury on Monday and sis could face up to 10 years in prison.

"Rose steadfastly maintains her innocence", her attorney Jose Baez said in a statement.

McGowan voluntarily surrendered to authorities in Virginia in November in response to an arrest warrant.

In court papers filed in February, her lawyer Jessica Carmichael wrote: "There is simply no point in time at which the evidence places Ms. McGowan and the cocaine together in the same place".

The charging documents say that after McGowan got off a United Airlines flight at Dulles International Airport in January 2017, the cleaning crew found McGowan's wallet next to her seat.

Weinstein pleaded not guilty to the sexual assault charges. Police said two bags of cocaine were discovered inside. Weinstein has denied all accusations. She previously stated that she believes the wallet was taken from her backpack while she was travelling. "Imagining I'm going into sisterly solidarity, I can think of nothing more opposed to that, energetically, that I would want in my body at that moment", McGowan said at the time.

McGowan pleaded not guilty to the charge, as she claims she had been without the wallet for five hours before getting it back, meaning anyone could have planted the drugs in the wallet.

Weinstein has since been arrested on charges of rape, committing a criminal sex act, sexual abuse and sexual misconduct in NY for which has pled not guilty. He couldn't immediately be reached for comment.
