Vivo Nex S was first unveiled at the Mobile World Congress earlier this year as the Vivo Apex and soon gadget fans across were waiting to get their hands on the device.

The new flagship series NEX is Vivo's premium line-up and is the ultimate representation of innovation in design, performance, as well as cutting-edge technologies.

What do you think about the Vivo Nex?

"The launch of NEX finally brings an end to the industry's pursuit of a true bezel-less device". One teaser even suggested it'll have a 95% or more ratio but we'll have to wait and see if Vivo can be beaten by this new device. "Vivo is evolving from a manufacturer to an innovative technology company that delivers hardware, software and services", said Alex Feng, Senior Vice President of Vivo.

While we all knew ditching bezels would continue to be a trend in 2018, many hoped that the notch wouldn't come along with that. They call it Ultra FullView Display and uses a 6.59-inch Super AMOLED panel with FHD+ (2316 x 1080px) resolution and a unique 19.3:9 ratio. That all-screen design wouldn't have been completely possible if Vivo didn't have the guts to stick the 8 megapixel front camera in a retracting mechanism. The phone comes with a Screen SoundCasting Technology which basically means that speakers are integrated with the screen. It was already pretty reliable on Vivo X21, as seen in MKBHD's video, so it should be better in the Vivo NEX. This is the third-generation in-display fingerprint sensor, which is claimed to be 50% better at recognition accuracy with a broader detection area and 10% faster unlock speed.

Form and function can not be separated and in the ultimate bezel-less phone, the performance also needs to be optimal.

Both the devices are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon processors but NEX S is based on Snapdragon 845 64-bit 10nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 630 GPU while NEX A based on Octa-Core Snapdragon 710 10nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 616 GPU.

NEX incorporates AI technology that makes the smartphone truly smart. Vivo says it used AI techniques to improve scene recognition, HDR, and photo composition, though this may be just another example of companies abusing the term "AI". This ensures users capture the ideal shot of any subject, in any scenario, regardless of skill level. The smartphones will come with a dedicated Jovi AI assistant button. In future, the company will be rolling out several new features related to this Jovi voice assistant. And unlike the Mi Mix 2, the Vivo NEX has a headphone jack. Still, you have to give mad props to Vivo for launching such a smartphone.

The pop-up camera isn't the only cool trick the Vivo Nex is capable of.
