Navarro, a Republican strategist and "never Trumper", confessed her preference to CNN host Brooke Baldwin on Tuesday during a segment that centered on Alec Baldwin's recent comment to Howard Stern that he is "1,000 percent" sure he would "absolutely win" if he ever challenged Trump for the presidency.

In the interview embedded above, Baldwin and Stern's conversation turns to the 2020 election, and Baldwin admits that he "can only think of a couple people who I think could beat Trump".

"If I ran, I would win", Baldwin told Stern. Hands down, I would win.

Baldwin joked that he couldn't actually run because of his wife's disapproval and that he's too busy with his ABC game show Match Game, but used his Trump impersonation to say that he would take off the whole summer as president.

It's not the first time the 60-year-old actor has talked about running for president.

"Where are you then?" added Stern, who then mocked Baldwin's game-show hosting duties. "It'd be the funniest, most exciting, most insane campaign".

"Somebody great is going to come up, I hope", he said in a more serious tone.

"The only reason I say that is because I'd love to run for that kind of position to have things just be very common sense", he continued.

"Frankly, at this point I would vote for a potted plant over Donald Trump if that potted plant was the nominee", she said.

Baldwin said he wants Democrats "to have a smart opposition to keep them on their toes".
