Previously, the Frenchman had stated that he wanted things to be resolved before the World Cup, in order to fully concentrate on the tournament with his country.

However, at a press conference in Russian Federation on Tuesday, the 27-year-old repeatedly laughed off questions regarding a potential move before claiming he has made up his mind where he will be playing next season.

France kick off their World Cup campaign against Australia on Saturday and Griezmann had previously insisted that he would reveal his future before that match.

The France forward, who scored 29 goals and created 15 others last season, was strongly linked with Manchester United last summer before a contract tying him to Atletico until 2022 was agreed.

"I'm sorry for the wait, but today is not the day".

SGSpanish journalist Pedro Morata came up with a sneaky to ask Griezmann about his future

"I am happy and that's the most important thing now".

Seeing how things have come full circle for Griezmann is just lovely and we're eager to see how he performs on the grandest stage of them all, especially considering how electric he was two years back.

The report states that a "very well-informed source" has told them that he has verbally agreed to join the Camp Nou club. However, Atletico responded with a counter-offer which will make him the club's best paid player by some distance.

Griezmann has been dedicating a lot of time to his decision, and reports claim that he's turned to French teammates while preparing for the World Cup for advice.

Now it is Griezmann signing the autographs and carrying the hopes of a nation on his shoulders.
