"President Trump committed to providing security guarantees to the DPRK and Chairman Kim Jong-un reaffirmed his firm and unwavering commitment to complete denuclearisation of the Korean Peninsula". "And then they said it was in North Korea, and then they found out it was a nuclear test, I said, I never heard of a Richter scale in the high eights".

"Something that would have been thoroughly consulted with Korea, and probably with Japan. Everyone came at me and I'm still standing", the former Chicago Bulls player said, adding that everyone ridiculed him for wanting to act as a mediator and peacemaker.

While North Korea referred to them as "joint military exercises" in the article, Trump's repeated use of the term "war games" at yesterday's press conference was unusual, as the USA typically insists they are defensive in nature.

The remarks were made by foreign ministry spokesman Geng Shuang at a briefing in Beijing after Foreign Minister Wang Yi praised the summit - the first between a North Korean leader and a sitting United States president - as "creating a new history".

"It will mean closure for a lot of American families who don't know of the fate, right, of their loved one and haven't had the chance to bury and memorialize that loved one", said Dr. Latham.

"What the United States has gained is vague and unverifiable at best".

Trump has now essentially adopted the standard North Korean line, calling the military exercises a "provocative" drain of money and announcing they would stop while he continues talks with Kim, whom he repeatedly praised as a solid negotiating partner.

"War games are very expensive", he said, raising the issue of their cost. "I think nobody can doubt the extremely unique and important role China has played".

"So talking about withdrawal of USA forces is something that needs to be really thought through".

But American military officials at the Pentagon or U.S. Forces-Korea say they have received no guidance on the cancellation of the exercises. "I'm going to thank my kids".

Mr Rodman arrived in Singapore wearing a T-shirt promoting PotCoin, which has sponsored his travel to North Korea in the past.

"I thought it was just another one of those things that I was just doing, some charity event", he said.

The White House may make an announcement on Friday, which could see the USA slapping a 25 per cent tariff on a list of Chinese exports.

"He, Kim Jong Un, has been signaling that there's a new Sheriff in town".

USA forces in South Korea said it has "received no updated guidance on the execution or cessation of training exercises" and will continue to coordinate with South Korean partners and maintain the current posture until it receives an updated guidance from the Department of Defense or the Indo-Pacific Command.

Rodman said he doesn't want to take any credit; he is just "thankful" to be where he is.

Mr Wi said a careful review of the joint statement revealed "not much advances in the area of denuclearisation". I'm so happy, ' he said.

Meanwhile, some companies tried to celebrate the reconciliatory mood of the two leaders in a different way.

"Follow-up negotiation between Pyongyang and Washington will not be easy, it will be the repetition of what we have seen before", he said.
