Kylian Mbappe was injured in training ground on Tuesday handing France a massive scare ahead of World Cup tournament.

Paris St-Germain striker Mbappe went down following a hefty challenge from defender Adil Rami.

Mbappe, 19, hurt his left ankle and went back to the dressing room rather than continuing the session, according to L'Equipe.

Kylian Mbappe has eased fears he suffered a serious injury just two days before the start of the 2018 World Cup.

"I am doing fine, it was just a knock, so nothing serious but thank you for your messages", he wrote via his official Twitter account while urging fans to "lay off my friend Adil Rami as it was not malicious".

"Ice packs? No, it is just a knock", Mbappe said.

The incident left Rami red-faced, with France opening up their World Cup campaign in Russian Federation on Saturday, when they play Australia at 11am BST.

The teenager scored 21 goals in all competitions and also found the back of the net for France over the weekend as they drew 1-1 with US in a warm-up match.

Griezmann said: "We know it will be hard, but we have the squad and the dressing room to achieve something big".
