Footage, which has been posted to Twitter by royal fans, shows the youngster clapping as the family stood on the balcony after the traditional fly past.

Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, Prince George of Cambridge and Princess Charlotte of Cambridge attend the Maserati Royal Charity Polo Trophy at Beaufort Park on June 10, 2018 in Gloucester, England.

And this is despite Kate stepping out onto the Buckingham Palace balcony at the weekend for Trooping the Colour.

Four-year-old George, dressed in beige shorts and a navy top, was seen playing with a colourful Slinky and taking aim at his friends with a toy gun.

Kate who just gave birth seven weeks ago to her youngest, Prince Louis, was dressed casually but as always chic.

Prince George and Princess Charlotte cheered on their dad, Prince William, at a polo match Sunday.

"Another chimed in, "#PrinceGeorge playing with a toy gun!

One comment said: "This was the only disappointing thing about today's polo match photos". Several users dismissed the criticism, arguing they themselves had toy guns as kids, and that such play does not encourage violence. My American side here, biased maybe b/c of everyday gunviolence in U.S., but my British side agrees.

"In this context - a public event that invites the public to participate - it's risky to allow a toy gun, because many people look to the family for compassion and leadership", Gilboa tells Yahoo Lifestyle. This looks far too real.(And I LOVE Prince George, don't get me wrong!)'.

A third added: 'Prince George has a toy gun ....really!'.

While the adult Royals make headlines with every little move, the tiny tots of the family have managed to keep the world wooed with their adorable antics.
