President Trump is aboard Air Force One and on his way home after participating in a historic Singapore summit with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un.

"Two men, two leaders, one destiny. To show vision and leadership - or not?"

Trump also said that he and Kim will now participate in a joint signing - but did not give any indication as to what exactly the document contained.

Before flying home, Trump planned to speak to reporters in Singapore after concluding the summit, the White House said. "We didn't have a big screen like you [the media] have the luxury of having, we didn't need it because we had it on a cassette and an iPad".

From comments on their conversations to stifled interactions and awkward-looking photographs, we've rounded up some of the internet's hottest takes on Trump-Kim 2k18.

The meeting between US President Donald Trump and North Korea's Supreme Leader Kim Jong-Un has been in the talks for several months, and now with the two leaders finally meeting, it's only natural for the world to know what they discussed.

"We had it made up", Trump said.

Should they succeed in making a diplomatic breakthrough, it could bring lasting change to the security landscape of Northeast Asia, like the visit of former U.S. President Richard Nixon to China in 1972 led to the transformation of China.

"The discussions between the United States and North Korea are ongoing and have moved more quickly than expected", the White House said in a statement.

Trump said he "absolutely" would be willing to invite Kim - whose regime has been criticised for widespread human rights abuses - to the White House.
