Blockbuster filmmaker Wan, whose credits include The Conjuring, Furious Seven and Warner Bros' upcoming Aquaman, will not be directing the remake, but will be shepherding the film's fruition as producer.

Steven Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment and James Wan's Atomic Monster are teaming up on a remake of 1990's horror-comedy "Arachnophobia".

James Wan will also be acting as producer for the film adaptation of Stephen King's The Tommyknockers, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

However, almost 30 years on, the film is the latest candidate for a big screen remake. The project has no writer or director attached at this point in time, but Amblin is expected to tap a screenwriter to get started on the script in the near future. Wan will not direct. The film was about a newly discovered Venezuelan spider that made it back to the United States via a casket and caused havoc in a small town after it began producing a new species of deadly drone spiders that began killing the town residents. That said, what we do know so far- the producing team- is exciting. Whatever your thoughts are, be sure to share them with us in the comments section down below!

If you've never seen the original, take a look at the trailer. The original Arachnophobia features quite a lot of actual spiders in it, as well as some rather silly puppets, but even that seems like it would be superior to doing the entire film with CGI.
