The two sides will meet in pre-season at the Aviva stadium in Dublin, having played each other five times in three competitions in the 2017-18 season.

The match will take place as part of the International Champions Cup and with it being played so close to the start of the new Premier League season, it is expected that a lot of the pairs top stars will be on show for the fans of both clubs as managers finalise preparations before the real competitive action gets underway.

Chelsea will first face Inter Milan at Nice's Allianz Riviera Stadium on Saturday 28th July.

They have also announced a friendly against Lyon at Stamford Bridge on August 7, two days after the Community Shield against Manchester City at Wembley.

The confirmation ends the mayhem that had originally been the Blues' schedule.

‪Chelsea were initially scheduled to face Sevilla in Warsaw on July 28 and Inter in Gothenburg on August 1.

Sky Sports is reporting that both of the London clubs are keen on a move to bring the 26-year-old to the Premier League this summer, with Manchester City also interested in a deal.

Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Friday, 15 June.
