Matt Kemp of the Dodgers and catcher Robinson Chirinos of the Rangers have been ejected in the third inning after a home plate collision that led to a benches-clearing confrontation between the teams. Kemp was attempting to score on a hit to right field and he attempted to bulldoze the catcher on his way in.

Matt Kemp attempted to run through Robinson Chirinos before the Dodgers-Rangers game descended to chaos.

Notice also in the above video that after Kemp shoved Chirinos hard, Chirinos didn't want any part of the Dodgers' Cody Bellinger, who looked ready to clean house.

Kemp then shoved Chirinos more rigorously, and the benches emptied. But with Chirinos receiving the throw well ahead of him, Kemp lowered his shoulder and barreled into him. Kemp was restrained by Rangers starter pitching Cole Hamels.

The rule is that unless a catcher is in the act of fielding the ball, he has to give a path to home.

After the field was cleared, the umpires huddled and both managers that Kemp and Chirinos were ejected.
