Developed by Squanch Games, which was founded in 2016 by Justin Roiland, the game is supported by both PS4 and PSVR.

There's been more than a few eccentric moments during Sony's E3 2018 briefing, but some of the most obvious of those moments came from the instantly recognizable co-creator of sci-fi cartoon series Rick and Morty. While details surrounding gameplay are sparse, it will be out early 2019.

Trover Saves the Universe is one of those games that makes me wonder if I am now hallucinating. "Does that make sense?" reads the game's description on its official website. How the two experiences will be different remains to be seen, but the trailer definitely has the wonderful Justin Roiland dark humor we've grown to love. As Trover, you need to save the universe and rescue your dogs from some guy who... kidnapped them and stuffed them in his eyeholes?

No release date was announced, though since it was showcased exclusively at Sony's conference, it sounds like a potential PS4 exclusive.

Roiland's Squanch Games, who previously released Accounting+, are leading development on the game.
