Huawei announced the MediaPad M5 tablets at MWC in February and then we took the M5 Pro for a test drive in March.

Which is good, because the Android website now has three new Huawei tablets to promote, too: Huawei's MediaPad M5 tablets, in 8.4- and 10.8-inch versions, and the 10.8-inch MediaPad M5 Pro, are now available. But while the M-Pen comes with the MediaPad M5 Pro, the keyboard does not.

Huawei is one of the few companies that continues to kick out Android-powered tabs, and its latest series - the MediaPad M5 - is now available in the United States. Each features 64GB of storage and 4GB of RAM, as well as a micro SD memory reader that can expand storage to 256GB. The tablets have curved glass displays, a 2,560x1,600-pixel screen resolution, IPS panels, U-shaped antennas and SIM slots. These tablets incorporate the elegant Huawei design language and are solid tablets for business. The tablet is equipped with a fingerprint scanner, and while the 8.4-inch model sports a 5100mAh battery, a larger 7500mAh cell keeps the lights on for the 10.8-inch version.

The tablets are basically identical, aside from the display size and price, with the smaller tablet priced at $319 and the larger at $359.

Harman Kardon is in charge of optimizing the premium sound delivered by the MediaPad M5 8.4's two speakers, not to mention the 10.8-incher's quad speaker setup.
