According to Deadline.com, WWE star John Cena has signed on to appear in the yet-to-be-titled Jackie Chan movie now using the working title "Project X", being directed by Scott Waugh ("Need for Speed"). From the description above it sounds like it has borrowed elements from films like Wolf Warrior 2 - rescuing Chinese workers in a foreign country - and Die Hard - grand theft under the guise of an attack.

In case you've been living under a rock, Cena is quickly becoming a hot commodity in entertainment.

Perhaps most interesting is that Cena is replacing Sylvester Stallone, and a part of me can't help but wonder what happened to make Stallone leave.

Subsequently, it emerges that the attackers actually intend to a steal a fortune in oil, and so Jackie's character turns to a former marine, played by John, who tries to stop them. The Marine had been fooled into thinking he was working to seize illegally gotten Chinese assets before he learns he was had and partners up with the Snow Leopard Commando.

The movie will be directed by Scott Waugh, who served as the director for Need to Speed.

On the work front, John Cena, who was last seen in Blockers will be next seen in Bumblebee and Universal's The Janson Directive.
