California has a complex statute of limitations for criminal prosecutions of sexual abuse but offenses must generally be prosecuted within 10 years.

According to Deadline, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson confirmed that an incident report and said that the case was presented by the Santa Monica Police Department on Wednesday.

The allegation against the star comes in the wake of the #MeToo movement that has focused attention on sexual harassment in Hollywood and beyond.

The Santa Monica Police Department turned over the case, which was first reported to it in November 2017, Risling told CNN in an email.

He acknowledged that Stallone had a relationship with the alleged victim while shooting a movie in Israel in 1987 while he was single.

The accuser said she consented to have sex with Stallone but not De Luca, and that Stallone threatened to "beat her head in" if she told anyone.

"This is a ridiculous, categorically false story", a spokeswoman for Stallone said in a statement at the time.

The spokesman declined to provide further information about the referral, but Stallone late past year faced an allegation that he raped a woman in the 1990s. "It is under review", the Los Angeles District Attorney told Us Weekly on Wednesday, June 13. Police didn't say anything about the nature of the allegation against Stallone.
