The Nun, the film focusing on one of the scary characters from The Conjuring 2, has debuted its first trailer. Following in the footsteps of the Annabelle offshoots, the latest entry into the highly lucrative horror franchise is bound to turn a few heads due to it centering around the most recognizable Sister of Sin you'll see outside of a Ghost concert. Watch the trailer below. Together they uncover the order's unholy secret.

The Nun is directed by Corin Hardy, who previously led the 2015 horror movie The Hallow.

Universal Pictures and franchise creator James Wan are also reportedly looking to create a spinoff film based on the Crooked Man, who appeared in the last movie.

Joining Hardy behind the scenes are director of photography Maxime Alexandre ("The Voices", "Annabelle: Creation"), production designer Jennifer Spence ("Annabelle: Creation", "Lights Out", the "Insidious" films), editors Michel Aller ("Lights Out", "Paranormal Activity: Ghost Dimension") and Ken Blackwell ( "Ouija" "Friday the 13th"), and costume designer Sharon Gilham (TV's "Black Mirror"). Set before the events of The Conjuring 2, The Nun Expands on the origins of Valak, traveling to 1950s Romania where exorcist Father Burke (Demian Bichir) and his novitiate assistance Sister Irene (Taissa Farmiga) are dispatched by the Vatican to investigate a remote abbey where a young nun committed suicide.
