Seth MacFarlane 'Embarrassed' To Work For Fox After Tucker Carlson Comment

Seth MacFarlane made the case that Fox News is the black sheep of the Fox family on Saturday - at least from his perspective.

MacFarlane claimed he was "embarrassed" to work for the company following the comments from Tucker Carlson - one of their primary anchors.

He wrote, "In other words, don't think critically, don't consult multiple news sources, and in general, don't use your brain".

MacFarlane, 44, shared his feeling after Fox News host Tucker Carlson told his viewers to ignore information broadcasted by competing major news networks, according to The Hill.

Seth MacFarlane isn't afraid to say what he thinks, even to the people who sign his checks. Retweeting the comment, MacFarlane expressed his dismay that the news branch of Fox would encourage their audience to "blindly obey". MacFarlane, whose shows appear on a network owned by the same parent company as Fox News, followed up on Stelter's tweet by calling out the "fringe shit" being peddled by his employer.

While it is impossible to gauge any actual threat of MacFarlane decamping Fox based on a single tweet, the message comes at a sensitive time after the company lost longtime creative engine Ryan Murphy to Netflix. Disney and Comcast are both bidding for ownership for 20th Century Fox, so he might not become an employee of the Disney Corporation.

Either way, MacFarlane has to continue working on his new series, The Orville, which is now in its second season.

But the creator of Family Guy and The Orville has taken things up a notch this weekend, tweeting that he is "embarrassed" to work for the network after the latest Fox News flap.
