Salah spent last season scything through some of the best defences in Europe, scoring 44 goals in all competitions for Liverpool in the most prolific campaign of his career.

Salah, who turned 26 on Friday, trained with his team-mates on Saturday ahead of their crunch game with the hosts who started their World Cup by beating Saudi Arabia 5-0. I hope he will be fit to play, I'm sure he will be able to play.

"Salah is fit", Cuper told reporters on Monday.

"He's a great player, a crucial player, that much is perfectly clear", Cuper added.

Moments earlier, Salah took part in light jogging around the St. Petersburg Stadium field and ran at the back of the group, with one coach gently nudging his left shoulder as the striker dribbled with a ball. For me there's no shadow of a doubt there.

"I trust in my team, I believe in my players and I will give you a simple answer: we are ready to do this and we will do this". "It is an honour and privilege to coach him". Nobody can deny that.

"He is important to us and I say that with all due respect to the other players in the Egyptian squad". He plays as a team player and that for me is extremely important nowadays.

Cuper planned on starting Liverpool star Salah against Uruguay because he thought he was fully fit.

"I would not say that in the Euros in France there was no quality football, but it is true that the game was much more tight than now in the World Cup", Karpin concluded on Russian Federation ahead of the clash on Tuesday. "Whether Salah can be stopped or not, different coaches will have different strategies". Dimitri, who represented his country 10 times, has now fired up the contest between the Pharaohs and the hosts, sending a jibe at Salah.
