Lackluster so far, tropical disturbance still forecast to bring substantial rain

Even though not everyone will see rain every single day, everyone will at least have a slight chance of rain, so keep an umbrella handy this week.

With abundant clouds and rain, highs will be held in the upper 80s and lows will fall to the middle 70s through midweek.

The tropical disturbance in the Gulf of Mexico will continue to throw moisture our direction, which will keep decent rain chances in the forecast through much of the work week. All rights reserved. That said, heavy rainfall could cause areas of brief street flooding, especially in the area that we typically need to monitor during heavy rain events.

Tropical storm-force winds are expected in the warning area into Sunday.


This weekend looks to be pretty nice with lots of sunshine and temperatures in the lower 90s and heat indices pushing the century mark once again.

The forecast models do not agree on how much rain we may see now through Thursday. The European model is showing some 3 inch amounts across deep east Texas. "1-2" of rain will be common but isolated spots could pick up 4-6" of rain in a short period of time.

It was drifting at two kilometers per hour towards the north and was expected to move inland within the tropical storm warning area - between Acapulco and Chacahua lagoon in Oaxaca - by late tonight or early Sunday.
