No Plans For Octopath Traveler DLC

"We haven't even thought of having DLC", producer Masashi Takahashi said in an interview with Dengeki Online (via Siliconera).

Octopath Traveler is unquestionably one of the most anticipated Switch games of 2018, thanks in large part to Square Enix launching two demos for the title since it was first announced. As expected, a few interesting nuggets had surfaced during the chat.

On the subject of DLC, Takahashi said that there are no plans for any future DLC as he described the retail version of the game as a "complete game". That number can extend to 80-100 hours if you were to play "through the substories, optional dungeons, and fully experience everything the world has to offer through the use of path actions". Takahashi spoke on this as well, letting people know that it is even entirely possible to play the whole game without recruiting any other characters. However, depending on the order you go about things, the difficulty will organically change.

That, at least, is what Square Enix found during internal testing, so if you've been waiting for a game you can really sink your teeth into, this could very well be it. Nintendo started advertising Octopath Traveler shortly after the Switch first launched, and nearly immediately, the game garnered attention for its unique aesthetic that gives it a painted pixel art look. However, with the upcoming Octopath Traveler from Square Enix, that won't be the case, as the RPG is confirmed to NOT have any DLC coming for it, planned for it, or anything of the kind. Your progress can then be carried over to the full game whenever you choose to buy it. Leave us a comment down below.
