PUBG Event Pass is the Game's Answer to Fortnite's Battle Pass

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds may be eclipsed by Fortnite in recent times, but the introduction of several new features may bring back some excitement to the game.

Today we've got a very big announcement: With Xbox and PC sales combined, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has now sold over 50 million units worldwide.

Alongside Sanhok's PC pass, PUBG is adding in a Fortnite-style battle pass, created to be the main way players unlock new content themed around the new map. According to the developer, it's a system for players to "unlock content in meaningful ways".

The update also includes a number of changes to the UI including an update to the friends list, leaderboard and replay UI improvements, enhancements to pop-ups in the lobby and game sessions, and improvements to the in-game minimap. If you want to pick up the game for the first time or gift it to a friend, you'll be able to grab it for just $19.99 (33.33% off the normal price). If you haven't paid for the pass, you can temporarily unlock numerous items (and earn one special item permanently).

The deal has already started and lasts until July 5th, so if you want to see why 400 million other players have already bought the game, you can join in on the cheap for the next two weeks or so.

Players who don't purchase the Event pass will still get to take cracks at these missions, but they will only receive temporary access to the cosmetic items with the exception of a single special item that will be permanently available once unlocked. And your mission progress is always tracked, so you can buy the Event Pass late in the event and still get all the rewards you've earned.
