Rohit Sharma, team India's vice-captain in limited-overs format, has cleared the yo-yo test, which means he will be flying to the United Kingdom with the other members of Indian cricket team.

Rohit had sought exemption from the BCCI as he had a sponsor commitment in Russian Federation.

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma, who had taken permission from the BCCI to skip the 15 June YoYo test on that particular day, will appear for the same at the NCA on Sunday.

In a tweet he wrote, "Dear... it's no ones business how & where I spend my time.I'm entitled to have time off as long as I follow protocol.Let's debate some real news shall we..." in response to his social media post where he was in Russian Federation for the FIFA World Cup as part of a promotional activity. "He wrote, in the tweet, on that regard, "... to a few channels, I had just 1 chance to clear my yo-yo that was today.Verification before reporting is always a good idea".

The BCCI had kept Ajinkya Rahane on stand-by in case Rohit fails to achieve the qualifying mark of 16.1.

With 2019 World Cup in mind, the Indian selection committee had earlier brought back veteran left-hander Suresh Raina in the One-Day squad for the England tour, replacing Ambati Rayudu, who failed his fitness test.

Shami was also dropped from the Indian squad for the one-off Test against Afghanistan after he failed to clear his Yo-Yo test. As per the schedule, India will face Ireland in T20Is on June 27 and 29.

A BCCI senior official refused to comment on the tests being conducted by the support staff of the Indian team.
