Kawhi Leonard and Kemba Walker.

Midway through last season, after rehabbing his injury, Leonard was cleared to play by the Spurs medical staff, but he insisted on a second opinion from his own doctors and ended up spending the all-star break consulting a specialist and rehabbing further. He has returned close to full health from the lingering quad injury.

National Basketball Association free agency begins July 1.

San Antonio has been prioritizing working through the issues with Leonard, but they have encouraged rival teams to present an offer if they so choose. "It's hard to see how they can work a deal for Leonard, who has only one year left on his contract".

San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich met with disgruntled star Kawhi Leonard in Southern California Tuesday, according to multiple reports. With a mediocre supporting cast and an unfavorable salary cap situation, Cleveland will have to think outside the box in terms of convincing the star forward to stay with his hometown team.

Despite Spurs being keen to keep hold of the 26-year-old and Leonard keen on a move to LA, it seems San Antonio will play hardball over any transfer.

Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich traveled to Southern California to meet with Kawhi Leonard on Tuesday ahead of the 2018 National Basketball Association draft Thursday, reports ESPN and Yahoo Sports. "That could make him attractive in a trade".

"He could end up being in L.A. if the Lakers pay a steep price, but the Spurs plan to talk to a lot of teams".
