Apple on Tuesday unleashed the second beta build of iOS 12 (beta 2), in addition to new beta releases for watchOS 5, tvOS 12 and macOS Mojave 10.14, to registered software developers - the most infamous of whom wasted not a second of time digging into the new OS code for any sign of hidden hints about upcoming Apple products.

Apple gave developers a hot new beta for iOS 12 this morning, adding a host of improvements to its huge update for iPhones and iPads that is coming out this fall. It will also make the watch thinner than the existing Apple Watch.

The Screen Time feature does not provide any analysis or recommendations, as its objective is to only provide people with data on how much they use their iPhone. One thing that weather fans will immediately notice is that Apple has actually introduced some regression with iOS 12 beta 2 in the form of a broken Weather widget. In the first beta, when you tapped an app it went right into the limits interface, but now tapping on the same will display more info on the app which includes daily average use, developer, category, and more, and will also allow you to set a limit.

A new For You tab is probably the most significant change to the Photos app with iOS 12.

Screen Time will show users if they are addicted to the iPhones, which will hopefully lead to better decisions on their part on how much they use the devices. Voice Memos and FaceID too have received a new splash screen and a text that says "Scanning with Face ID" respectively.

As the iOS 12 is expected to be rolled out by the year-end, accompanied by the rumored "Plus" version of the iPhone X and a cheaper model which will pack an LCD screen. When you open iPhone apps on the iPad, like Instagram, they're now displayed in a modern device size (iPhone 6) in both 1x and 2x mode.
