Dallas and Atlanta traded the No. 3 and No. 5 picks in the National Basketball Association draft on Thursday night, sending Euroleague star Luka Doncic to the Mavericks.

Though we're still in knee-jerk reaction territory, this already looks to be a huge misstep by Hawks brass, as Doncic projects to be one of the best players in this draft - if not the best. Per Wojnarowski, general consensus has the Kings taking Duke big Marvin Bagley III. As one of the likely top selections in the draft, Doncic's talent is undeniable, with NBA TV offering a profile of the 19-year-old native of Slovenia that indicated who his favorite player is: Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James.

The 6-foot-7 point guard led Real Madrid to the ACB title in Spain last week, and was named this year's EuroLeague MVP. The high-flyer from North Carolina State, averaged 15.2 points per game along with 5.2 assists and 3.8 rebounds in just under 30 minutes during his rookie campaign showing flashes of incredible athleticism and playmaking.

As an NBA scout told NBA.com's David Aldridge: "If they use him the right way, it's going to be real hard for him to fail".

You might be asking yourself, what wonderful bounty did the Hawks get in return for Luka Doncic, perhaps a player with the highest floor and perhaps the highest ceiling in this draft?
