"Donald was furious over Melania's jacket, but then, that's why she wore it, to piss him off and to cause him maximum embarrassment", a souce close to Melania EXCLUSIVELY told HollywoodLife. President Trump weighed in as well, saying on Twitter that it was a message aimed squarely at the media.

Two years later, on an official visit to migrant children being held at the border, onlookers were disturbed by First Lady Melania Trump's baffling jacket choice. "It's a jacket. There was no hidden message", Grisham said. "For weeks leading up to the "I don't care" jacket moment, Melania has felt frustrated, angry, and exhausted of being complicit to her husband's actions".

Wildfang, based in Portland with a store in New York City, shared a photo on social media Thursday of an army jacket with white writing on the back that reads "I really care, don't u?" asking people if they'd be interested in purchasing one.

The White House Director of Communications for FLOTUS, Stephanie Grisham, told Fox News Trump's jacket wasn't meant to send any kind of message.

"To wear it on her affirm that this was a political message, This was not a fashion statement". First lady Melania Trump's controversial jacket choice while visiting migrant children in Texas caught the attention of a feminist brand. InStyle's comment was simply, "Yikes".

The jacket first appeared only upon her departure - by the time Trump arrived in McAllen, Texas, the olive drab jacket, a $39 Zara design, was gone, and she walked into the housing facility clad in a cream military-style jacket with white jeans and sneakers. "If media would spend their time & energy on her actions & efforts to help kids - rather than speculate & focus on her wardrobe - we could get so much accomplished on behalf of children", she scolded. The First Lady didn't seem to mind, however, because getting back at the Donald was reportedly more important than how she portrayed herself.

The source added that Melania Trump certainly cares about the plight of children who have been separated from their parents and would never want them to think that the message was directed at them. Maybe her staff did say something.
