Koenigsegg previews even badder Agera RS replacement

The first Koenigsegg dealership in Australia has opened in Melbourne, via a partnership deal with Prodigy Automotive and luxury vehicle network Lorbek Luxury Cars.

Koenigsegg will pull the wraps off the new auto at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show but the vehicle is, however, already available to order.

Now, the Swedish auto manufacturer has teased the successor to the Agera RS with a new sketch. In a blog post about the news, the company shows a teaser sketch of the rear end of the new model, featuring a full race-like wing and diffuser outline. It'll reportedly be powered by a tweaked version of the 5.0-litre twin-turbo V8 but lack electrification. It is expected to produce about 20-30PS more and have a higher rev limit.

Koenigsegg's Direct Drive transmission technology that debuted in the Regera hypercar will not be included in the new supercar. But one thing we know for sure is that the new Koenigsegg will be faster than ever and also might have the last three letters of its name "era". Late past year, the company claimed the title of making the fastest production auto in the world when the Agera RS clocked an average speed of 444.6km/h on a closed public highway between Las Vegas and Pahrump.

There's not much else to go on for now, except perhaps for an interview that founder Christian von Koenigsegg had with Top Gear recently, in which he stated that the new auto would be "more race-like" and "even more extreme" than the current Agera RS.
