Delph to rejoin England squad after birth of daughter

Bradford-born England midfielder Fabian Delph has become a father for the third time, the player has announced.

Fabian Delph is flying back to Russian Federation to rejoin England's squad at the World Cup after taking time off to return home for the birth of his daughter.

The British soccer player flew home from Russian Federation on Friday to be by his wife Natalie's side as she gave birth to their third daughter.

"I've just experienced the most incredible 24 hours", Delph wrote.

"At 07:52 Me my wife and 2 lovely daughters welcomed their baby sister into the world".

"I can't put into words the happiness and gratitude I'm feeling", he wrote in an Instagram post.

However, after the safe birth of his child early Wednesday morning, the 28-year-old has set off to return to Russian Federation and hopes to be involved when England face Sweden in the quarter-finals on Saturday. "Back to Russian Federation now".

England continued in the tournament without him, beating Colombia on penalties to secure a place in the last eight.

The Manchester City player was in action from the start in England's narrow loss to Belgium's Red Devils on Thursday night in Kaliningrad and left for England to be beside his partner Natalie. England's general manager Gareth Southgate released a statement, "Some things in life are more important than football", Southgate said, according to the outlet.
