The company's two smartphones from 2017 - OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T - are now getting a new OxygenOS Open Beta 13 an Open Beta 11 respectively.

Previously a representative for OnePlus insisted neither the OnePlus 5 or OnePlus 5T would be a part of Project Treble.

Even with the successful response and release of the OnePlus 6, the company is still making strides to its previous flagship phones making them better with each software update. OnePlus originally said it was skipping on Treble because it requires a storage partition, and since all OnePlus devices lack the necessary partition, there was a chance they'd brick. Now, though, support has been added to the latest version of the Oxygen OS beta designed for last year's phones.

OnePlus is now seeding new Open Beta software for the OnePlus 5 and the OnePlus 5T. The hidden app list and toolbox has also been improved.

OxygenOS Open Beta 13 and Open Beta 11 for OnePlus 5/5T - What's Latest? This also means that future smartphone owners have another reason to consider buying a OnePlus device since not many smartphone makers are known for providing timely software updates. OnePlus had only provided this feature to the OnePlus 6, but have now released it for last years devices as well.

A new user interface, more colour customisation options and an improved launcher are just some of the new perks coming to OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T owners.

In addition to Project Treble, the update brings with it improvements and changes based on the user interface, such as a new design for the OnePlus weather app and a new user interface for the system app. OnePlus also optimised logic for the contact page in the OnePlus Dialer app, and the OnePlus Weather app has been completely redesigned. With the update, you get a color wheel for customization, which is what a lot of users have been asking for. The company has also introduced some changes to the default Launcher app, which now includes improved search tags, "New Installations" category tags in the apps section, and an app list improvement. However, if you have already taken the step and jumped on to the beta bandwagon, then it is pretty easy to install the new update.
