Following his departure from Arsenal towards the end of June, the 26-year-old is presently a free agent and was set for a move to Fenerbahce according to reports.

'Many people know that I've had a special bond with this club growing up.

"It feels good, it feels special", Wilshere told West Ham's official website.

Wilshere stays in the London area, and will fly out to Switzerland to link up with Manuel Pellegrini's squad at their pre-season training camp. It feels good and of course my family and a few of my friends are West Ham fans so everyone's buzzing'.

Wilshere makes the move to West Ham after spending the majority of his career at Arsenal, minus loan spells at Bolton Wanderers and AFC Bournemouth.

In an interview, Wilshere claims his entire family were Hammers' fans and he had one specific player on the back of his shirt.

When the news broke that Jack Wilshere's contract would not be renewed at Arsenal this summer, it seemed nearly certain that he would end up at West Ham.

Of late, Wilshere has also had to suffer the indignity of not not just being dropped from the Arsenal side, the England national side, but has also had to see the Lions far surpass anything managed in a tournament when he has been in the squad.

"Jack will be a great addition and we look forward to seeing his undoubted quality in a West Ham United shirt over the coming years as we fight for important goals at the club".
