Sacha Baron Cohen took to social media on Sunday to tease his upcoming series on Showtime. Then on Thursday, Variety reported that Cohen was in talks with Showtime for a brand new topical series, the format of which would be similar to Da Ali G Show.

A quick cut montage was followed by an interview with former US Vice President Dick Cheney, 77.

In the first clip from the Borat star's new TV series Who is America, the satirist remains offscreen speaking with a heavy accent as he asks Cheney to sign an empty plastic water jug, which Cohen claims is a "waterboard kit".

We see Cheney on screen, sitting in an armchair and happily signing the apparent torture device. Showtime has been pimping a new comedy it dubbed as "perhaps the most unsafe show in the history of television", and it appears as though that is what Sacha has been working on.

On July 4th, the British comedian and actor Sacha Baron Cohen revived his long-dormant presence on Twitter to post an odd video edit of President Donald Trump ridiculing him. "That's the first time I ever signed a waterboard".

Showtime has described Cohen's character in Who Is America? as "shameless", "unhinged", and "cold-blooded", and that the program is "perhaps the most unsafe show in the history of television".

Who Is America? is reportedly set to premiere in the U.S. later this month.
