George Clooney injured in bike accident

Local daily La Nuova Sardegna said Clooney's injuries were not serious, but he was taken to the John Paul II hospital emergency room.

George Clooney was reportedly involved in a motorbike accident on an Italian island Tuesday.

The 57-year-old was travelling to the set of his new TV show Catch 22 in Costa Corallina when a vehicle turned and struck him.

Hollywood star George Clooney has been injured in a collision involving his scooter and a vehicle.

Clooney is now filming TV drama Catch-22 on the Italian island.

It's not just the Clooneys spending the summer in Italy, George's parents and Amal's mum were also seen arriving on separate flights.

George and Amal met back in 2013 when Amal attended a party at the Ocean's Eleven star's house in Lake Como, Italy. The series is being produced for Hulu.

The two-time Oscar victor has hired Kyle Chandler of Friday Night Lights fame to take over the part of Col. Cathcart (played by Martin Balsam in the 1970 adaptation) originally earmarked for himself while he takes on the less demanding role of Scheisskopf.
