Minor updates are also out for watchOS, tvOS and HomePod.

Aside from this, iOS 11.4.1 includes bug fixes for the Find My AirPods feature and syncing with Exchange accounts. If you own a HomePod, it will automatically update itself to the latest software release without any user intervention.

Dozens of user reports on the Apple support community claim that their iPhones are suffering from expedited battery drain on iOS 11.4.

USB Restricted Mode was first noticed by security researchers ElcomSoft back in May during the beta of iOS 11.4, when it was discovered to automatically password-lock an iPhone's or iPad's Lightning port after seven days of inactivity. However, Apple had not released the details on its security page at the time of this posting, but expect them to appear sometime soon. The way it works is that when an hour has lapsed without the iPhone or iPad being unlocked with a passcode, the Lightning-USB connection will disable any data transfer. If you go to Settings and check under Face ID & Passcode, you'll see a new toggle for USB Accessories.

The accompanying explanation gives no indication of its real goal: "Unlock iPhone to allow USB accessories to connect when it has been more than hour since your iPhone was locked", it says underneath a sliding bar.

iOS 11.4.1 is available as an over-the-air update via the Settings app. watchOS 4.3.2 can be downloaded and installed through the Watch app on iOS. These are also small updates. The official change-log from Apple points to the release including "general improvements for stability and quality". After almost a year of dealing with buggy iPhones and iPads, iOS 12 is already a breath of fresh air in is current beta state. Sometimes the company shifts its focus to the next major release (in this case, iOS 12) in the summer.
