Ever since Kenedy's loan spell came to an end last season, the large majority of the Toon Army appear to have been urging Mike Ashley and Rafa Benitez to do all they can to get the Brazilian back for another spell.

Newcastle United are working on a deal to sign Kenedy once again from Chelsea, according to Sky Sports News. He fast became a fan favourite, scoring two goals and providing two assists for his teammates.

Kenedy was a prime candidate to be sold this summer to raise funds for first-team signings, but Chelsea have opted to loan him back to Newcastle after failing to find a club willing to meet their asking price, reportedly around £20 million.

It seems as though Kenedy's move to Newcastle is set to be confirmed in the near future, though, with the Daily Mail indicating that a deal has been wrapped up.

Kenedy has been a Chelsea player since 2015 though has started just five Premier League games for the club.

Following such an impressive spell up north, Kenedy was courted by a number of top European clubs, including Bayern Munich and PSG.

But Chelsea are always keen to keep hold of their young stars, with many having regular spells away from west London.

Reports in France suggest Newcastle have also made a move for Lille midfielder Thiago Maia.

It is claimed that the deal could be announced this week. Lille are said to prefer simply selling him.
