At the time of the lawsuit, Licalsi released an official statement making clear that he would be responding to the allegations in court, and posed the rhetorical question about how Raphael could want 20 percent for a management fee, then want another 50 percent in publishing royalties, yet not think he's "robbing Cardi B blind", which is what the rapper was alleging in the first place. She claims he wanted to control her relationship with Offset.

Shaft previously sued the Bodak Yellow star for $10 million (GBP7.6 million), claiming she breached a deal they made back before she was famous, and now the pregnant star has filed a countersuit, accusing him of trying to take over her life.

The complaint, which can be read in full here, states: "Ms. Almanzar entrusted Shaft and his related entities with many aspects of her professional and business affairs and that trust was abused". She is suing him for more than $15 million (GBP11.3 million).

Cardi filed her countersuit Thursday in federal court, and in the docs she says Shaft set up a management deal with her that she considers far too one-sided. Shaft named both men in the suit, in addition to Patientce Foster, who's Cardi B's publicist/stylist, according to Variety. This is the same record label that signed rap group the Migos, of which her husband Offset (real name Kiari Kendrell Cephus) is a member. "But as is sometimes the case with artists who obtain a measurable level of success, Cardi B has reneged on valid and binding agreements in an effort to cause Plaintiffs to forfeit their substantial rights and benefits in her entertainment career and to enrich herself and others who played no role in developing her career", attorneys representing Raphael wrote in the civil complaint.

Shaft's lawsuit was filed in April, days after Cardi B's Invasion of Privacy album became a huge hit, debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart.
