Croatia have "only" had to wait 20 years (semi-finalists at France 1998), while England last reached the semi-final stage 28 years ago at Italy 1990.

England manager Gareth Southgate is not about to change his team's approach for tomorrow morning's (Singapore time) World Cup semi-final against Croatia, saying he wants the "same again" from his young side.

Kane is England's trump card, but he has been feeding off scraps in this tournament and has done so well to come up with six goals from a combination of penalties and scrappy finishes in the box. "Croatia deserve respect, they've got some wonderful players".

Alli has also been a big let-down at this World Cup and looks like he is carrying a knock that is restricting him in some way, with his goal against Sweden last weekend covering up his otherwise disappointing displays.

Now England's manager and his players can earn the chance to make themselves immortals.

Although Croatia are the most hard opponents England will have faced in the tournament, Southgate's words suggest he will continue with his attacking formation and personnel.

"They are capable of going the whole way. England have been deadly from set-plays and I think this could be their route to the final".

"I think they've done the country proud. England are a unsafe team in this competition".

It says: "We need this for all those supporting England, as the next day will not be pleasant for all fans".
